AIGA (Re)Design Awards

AIGA is a professional association for designers with over 66 chapters and 20,000 members; it stands for American Institute of Graphic Arts but has members from all design backgrounds. AIGA's main mission is to "advance designing as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force". They embody their mission statement through five verbs: inform, communicate, inspire, represent, and stimulate.

In 2010, the Colorado chapter of AIGA held a design competition for social responsibility and environmental sustainability. Within these two categories it will be divided into Non-Profit Organization, For-Profit Corporation, Student, or Individual/Agency. Eligible works are (but not limited to):

  • Brand Identity
  • Publication Design
  • Package Design
  • Self-promotion
  • Print Collateral
  • Advertising
  • Environmental Design
  • Product Design
  • Multimedia 
  • Student Work 
  • Industrial Design
  • Architecture
  • Interior Design
  • Permaculture
  • Urban Planning
There are five judges who are "highly recognized design experts" in sustainability and social responsibility; including- Eric Benson, Rachel Martin, Naomi Pearson, Brian Dougherty, and Tim McNeil. 

Winners will be asked to mail their entries and attend the AIGA (Re)Design Awards Gala on October 27, 2011.
